Kansas Waterfall Details

The Cowley County Lake Waterfall is a runoff from the Cowley County Lake.

Region: Southeast Kansas

Difficulty: Easy and Expert viewing locations

Caution! The easy locations to view are located at the top of rocks, but with no fences or protection from falling 30 feet or more. BE CAREFUL!

The waterfall and parking are very close. I suggest wearing regular shoes (not flip flops or bare feet) because of the large amount of glass built up over the years. Beware of the barbed wire fence before going down the rough path of rocks. There are two large rock cliffs where the waterfall can be viewed and both are close to the parking area. If you decide to go down for a lower view, be prepared to climb on many different size rocks (some moving and some stable). Depending on the season, snakes will be around in large numbers. On my first visit I was able to video 7 while standing in the same area.
